Create the perfect New Year’s Eve look with these stylist-approved outfits

New Year’s Eve can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. The pressure to have exciting New Year’s Eve plans can feel like a lot, and then there’s the added stress that always seems to be involved with picking out a great outfit to close out the year. So let’s be honest, the last thing you want to deal with is a cold sore.

We know how difficult and anxiety-inducing it may be to live with cold sores — especially before a big event or holiday, when you may be seeing a lot of people. Thankfully, Abreva has your back. Abreva Cream can help heal a cold sore in as little as two-and-a-half days, when used at the first sign 1.

And as for the New Year’s Eve outfit? We can help you out with that, too. Fashion stylist Vanessa Valiente has some New Year’s Eve-worthy wardrobe ideas that will have you feeling both confident and radiant. Just throw on your jacket, strap on your heels, and remember to have Abreva on hand for that extra boost of confidence — you’ve got this!

7 Stylist-Approved Outfits to Try This New Year’s Eve

Glitter and Gold

One of Valiente’s favorite, and easiest, NYE looks is a glitter and gold look. “Grab a gold-tone glitter dress, gold heels, a gold minaudière clutch, and pile on the gold jewelry,” she says. “If you are feeling too much like the painted woman from James Bond's Goldfinger, sport the gold glitter dress with silver heels, silver jewelry, and a mixed-metal silver and gold bag, or vice versa.”

Bohemian

For a bohemian NYE look, go for a breezy black or burgundy embroidered maxi dress and statement earrings, Valiente suggests. This look is especially chic for house parties. “Pair this with sandals in warmer-weather cities or scrunched almond toe boots in cold weather,” Valiente says. “Top it off with a longish faux-fur coat if you're really going to shiver and want to add drama.”

Bold

NYE is the best time to go bold, Valiente explains. “Think ostrich feathers, shoulder-dusting earrings, and/or that skin-baring frock you never have the guts to wear,” she says.

Seeing Red

If you are feeling fierce and fiery this season, try sporting a strong red mini or midi and red lipstick to match, Valiente suggests. “Pair this with a black or silver envelope clutch and minimalist black or silver heels,” she says. “Top it with silver sunburst earrings.”

Retro Glam

“Check out some of the retro cocktail dresses inspired by ’90s glam, the ’80s overindulgence, or ’70s disco,” Valiente says. You can choose from exaggerated shoulders, bold metallics, or sequined halter dresses with plunging necklines. “Pair it with a modern handbag and shoes to keep the look fresh,” Valiente suggests.

Barely There

Pile on the delicate jewelry with a flowing or fitted light-colored slip dress and barely there shoes, Valiente suggests. “Throw a teddy coat over it if you're cold,” she says. “You will feel half-naked and reborn when you ring in the new year.”

Black Tie Optional

Pair a bow tie and oversize tuxedo jacket with your little black dress, or sport one of the tuxedo-inspired dresses or suits available right now. “Pair this look with a glitter clutch and sexy heels,” Valiente says. “You will love the empowerment you'll get from the look.”
